How Can I Get Stained Decorative Concrete Outside of My Home?

Lately, I've been seeing pictures of homes that have gorgeous stained decorative concrete in front of them. The concrete almost looks like it's brick or stone pavement rather than the drab, ordinary concrete that lies beneath it. The effect seems like it's really incredibly. I've seen a few how-to guides on how to do this yourself, but I'm not very confident I'm up to the challenge.

I've never been very crafty, and I don't want to mess this up and damage the concrete on the outside of my home. 

I'd like to find a company that would do this for me professionally. However, I haven't been able to find any companies that stain concrete in my area. I wonder if there's something that I'm missing, or if I'm simply not using the right kind of search terms. 

Will I have to color the concrete myself if I want to achieve this look? Or is there a way to get professionals to do it for me? I'm really not happy with the look of my concrete currently, and I'd love it if I could change things up somehow. The pictures of this I've seen are stunning.
